When FL-TOLL-429, the Orlando Western
Beltway, is completed, there will be a "missing link",
as TOLL 429
is supposed to intersect with I-4 about two miles south of FL-TOLL-417
(Central Florida Greeneway),
which is the eastern beltway segment. Not wanting drivers to have
to jog on I-4 to circle the "O-Zone", I decided
to add a section of freeway between 429 and 417. The extension
to US-27 was a logical addition.
The designation of FL-530 is, quite honestly,
a bit of laziness on my part. I didn't want to have to "scrounge"
to find
an available and suitable number, and I noticed that FL-530 is
the "hidden number" for US-192 west of Orange Blossom
Trail in Kissimmee. Presto, make US-192 west of I-4 "FL-530A",
and FL-530 is available for the new route!
